Garry started his insurance career with New Zealand Insurance 35 years ago in Dunedin, and 15 years later was based in Auckland as a Regional Manager.
While completing an MBA Garry accepted a role with Lumley Insurance as General Manager Insurance and after 10 years having enjoyed being part of a team which saw the company grow significantly, accepted a position with Elders Rural Holdings Ltd to establish an insurance broking operation.
Elders Insurance Ltd was successfully established, and after 3 years Garry’s role was as National Manager Financial Services with responsibility for insurance, rural lending and Elders card operations.
In 2010 Garry accepted an offer from Marsh as Executive Director where he stayed until 2013 when he commenced negotiations to purchase TSI.
Commenced career in Hamilton and then moved to Auckland.
In 1987 accepted position as Auckland Branch Manager with Lumley Insurance and during the following 22 years fulfilled the following positions:
• Northern Regional Manager: Responsible for Auckland, Hamilton and Whangarei branch development. • NZ Operations Manager: Responsible for the NZ branch network with prime responsibility for overall branch operations and development, including the broker market and key client account relationships. • NZ Broker & Distribution Manager: Responsible for the total NZ broker market development and distribution. • Also part of the Lumley Executive Team until the end of 2008.
As a result of the Christchurch earthquakes in 2010, accepted a position for 3 years as Commercial Claims Advocate with Marsh Insurance Brokers to assist with the processing and claims settlement negotiations for their commercial clients Material Damage and Business Interruption claims.
Joined TSI Brokers & Consultants in 2014 following the change of ownership.
Allan’s insurance career spans over 35 years in various roles throughout New Zealand. Starting with the National Insurance in Hamilton, as a Rep, Allan has held management roles with National Insurance, NZI & Lumley insurance in Underwriting, Administration and Claims.
Prior to joining TSI Allan spent 2 years assisting Marsh with Christchurch EQ Claims. Allan is based in Tauranga.
Anna’s many years of experience within the insurance industry enable her to provide a comprehensive service to our domestic clients which includes- establishing new clients, policy renewals and alterations, premium funding and support at claims time.
Providing support at claims time is an important part of our role, and Anna’s extensive claims experience means that she can add significant value in guiding our clients through the claims process.
Ruth has been in the industry for over 25 years with the majority of that time spent in broking. She has worked for both International and indigenous brokers and has held senior roles in a number of broking companies and is currently our Business Manager who looks after our business practices as well as being a Senior Broker.
Ruth has worked as a consultant for various Insurers and Software companies, which included providing a broker’s perspective in relation to computer software and system projects aimed at improving the efficiency in Broker / Insurer business. Ruth’s latest work has been with Steadfast Technologies as part of the working group in relation to the new Insight software for brokers.
Ruth holds a Senior Associateship with The Institute, is QIB and RFA registered and has been an IBANZ board member for many years
Recently EIL has formed a joint venture arrangement with TSI which enables both companies to expand its geographical footprint.
Amanda Started in the Insurance industry in 2004 as receptionist and then moved into a Commercial Broker role which lasted over eight years .Amanda Successfully completed a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and obtained Senior Associate CIP through ANZIIF.
Amanda is now returning to the industry after some time off to have a family, and joined the team at TSI Papamoa branch in April 2017 as Broker Support.
Ken has worked in the insurance business for over 50 years, with over 45 years in broking mainly with large international brokers handling corporate business ranging from primary industry through general manufacturing to service industries.
He has specialised in an holistic approach to managing risk, & the parts played by Business Continuity, alternative Risk Financing & Transfer, culminating in the purchase of traditional insurance from insurance markets.
He has been in Auckland since 1990, having previously worked in Christchurch, Fiji, Dunedin & Wellington in various management positions.
I started my Insurance Career in 1990 straight from school in Life Insurance. In 1995 I had a short gap whilst I was overseas for a year. In late 1996 upon my return to NZ, I joined a Life Broker in Wellington and in 1997 I moved to Auckland, commencing my career in Domestic Insurance with NZI in various different roles. In 1999 I was promoted to Office Manager when the Company restructured and held this position for 2 years before being seconded to other positions where help was needed within the Company. I then moved on to Broking until I left to raise my children. In 2017 I took on a role for a large Broking Firm, and in late 2019 I commenced my employment with TSI Brokers, preferring a smaller, more personal team.
Geoff commenced his insurance career in 1971 and has been insurance broking since 1974.
He has worked in insurance in London and Fiji and had 10 years with a multinational Broker.
In 1987 he established his own Insurance Broking Business and subsequently formed Insurance Broker Services which became part of TSI in June 2015.
His broking career has involved handling all facets of aviation insurance from warbird aircraft to airline accounts and he has also specialised in arranging covers for the forestry and transport industries.
Geoff’s insurance philosophy is quite simple – the end result of any insurance cover is usually a claim so make sure the claim is settled to the clients’ satisfaction. Geoff is based in Tauranga.
